Cole Zeller and Sabrina Glueck's Wedding - May 3, 2020

We have so appreciated the loving thoughts, texts, emails, cards and prayers we have received this past few weeks. Although we sometimes don't understand what is going on currently in the world, God does know, and it is Him who we completely trust!

You should have received an email about the CARES act this week with biblical principles to consider. Bro. James Fehr from Tremont had a very nice talk about it on April 15th that you can listen to on AC Central. There will also be an Around the Table podcast on this subject as well.

Our Zoom fellowship meetings will begin this week. Your group leader will be reaching out to you to set a time. Thanks to all who signed up. We are looking forward to seeing your faces and having some quality time together.

Sis. Gretchen Zimmerman’s dad recently passed away. Please be prayerful for the Vietti and Zimmerman family during this time of loss. We are very thankful Jim recognized Jesus as his savior.

We are very thankful that Reggie Plattner is at peace with God and desires baptism. Please pray for Reggie and encourage him during this most important time in his life. If you have any words of encouragement or concerns, please contact him. We are so thankful for surrendered hearts.

Note from Elder Committee:

This letter is to share our change in plans (due to COVID-19) for the August General Conference which was scheduled to be hosted by our Rittman, OH congregation.

As an Elder Body, we appreciate the opportunity to communicate with the church during our General Conference. And while we are sharing with you that we are canceling the in-person Thursday evening Elder/Minister Meeting and Friday General Conference this year at Rittman , the Agenda Committee is working on alternative approaches for us to communicate with the Church in August. We would ask each of you to be prayerful as they seek to discern the Holy Spirit’s direction so that we can still “gather together” in a way that is “decent and in good order.”

At this point, we have not made a decision regarding an in-person Elder Meeting this August. Lord willing, we plan on determining the appropriate path forward for the Elder Meeting by mid-June.

We trust this decision, which was made prayerfully and carefully, reflects the Holy Spirit’s direction, as well as an understanding of the current and near future “reassembling of large gatherings” realities across the United States. We appreciate the efforts of the Rittman brethren that have been underway over the last year to be prepared for the upcoming Conference, and trust that the way will open for us to assemble with them at a General Conference in 2021. Our prayer is that " your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that you may approve things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God " (Phil. 1:9-11).

Cole Zeller and Sabrina Glueck's Wedding - May 3, 2020

To our dear church family. Because of the current shelter in place mandate, the plans for Bro. Cole Zeller and Sis. Sabrina Glueck's wedding plans have changed. They will still be getting married May 3 at 11:00 am but with a very small amount of people. Please watch your email in the next few days for an opportunity to utilize zoom for some video fellowship amongst our church family.

We rejoice with Bro. Wes and Sis. Joyce Hohulin as they are celebrating 50 years of marriage today. We pray they will feel God’s nearness and we hope they can enjoy many more years together.

Bro. Gary Wiegand is now recovering at the Eureka home. Be prayerful also for him and Sis. Karen.

We rejoice with Bro. Jason & Sis. Abby Schick as they were blessed with a baby boy, Steven Lee on April 6th.

Lord willing, HarvestCall proclaim and serve will be held July 11th at Peoria. More information is available at www.proclaimandserve.org Registration will begin in April.

We plan to stream Good Friday service starting at 7:00pm this Friday. This will cancel our Wednesday evening services. This service will be available on video stream from our website (www.goodfieldacchurch.org), AC Central or our call in system.

Bro. Alfred Keiser’s youngest sister passed away recently. She was 81 years old and her name is Alice Snodgrass. She lived in Arkansas. Please be prayerful for Bro. Alfred and Sis. Marie and their family.

Our Dear Sister Mildred Heinold passed away yesterday. Due to the current situation there will be a private family service at the cemetery on Tuesday. Please be prayerful for the Heinold family during this time. We are thankful for Sis Mildred’s victory in Jesus.

EUREKA - Mildred Elizabeth Heinold, 91, of Eureka went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Mildred was born on March 19, 1929 to Letcher and Alma (Cappis) Akers. She married Wilbur Heinold on December 20, 1946 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2012.

They were blessed with six children. Surviving are Terri (Bob) Abner of East Peoria, Mike (Pam) Heinold of Morton, Dave (Kathy) Heinold of Eureka, Pat (Dave) Kuntz of Goodfield, Scott (Molly) Heinold of Washington, and a foster daughter, Lydia Reyes of the Philippines, along with 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Diane Melton; two sisters, Peggy and Katherine, and four brothers, Harold, Stanley, Jack and Irvin.

Mildred retired from the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home in Eureka at the age of 70 after 30 years of service. There, she made many lasting friends and held fond memories.

Most of all, Mildred loved it when family would gather at her house to sample her wonderful homemade pies and other pastries. She made sure she had extra chairs to set up and toys for the little ones to play with.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Goodfield.

Due to COVID-19 circumstances, a private graveside service to be held at Goodfield-Congerville Apostolic Christian Cemetery, with church ministers officiating.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Eureka Apostolic Nursing Home for the kindness, love and excellent care that was shown to our mother.

Memorials may be made to Eureka Apostolic Nursing Home.

Knapp – Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.

There are seven long term care facilities in the state of Illinois that are owned and operated by several Illinois Apostolic Christian Church congregations, including Morton, Roanoke, Fairbury, Elgin, Peoria, and Eureka. The COVID-19 virus has widespread community transmission and the threat of personal protective equipment being available at this time could become a very real issue to healthcare workers. At this time, we are asking that anyone who has the capability of making healthcare gowns, please consider doing so to meet our long term care needs. A pattern to make the type of gown we are needing is available. Please contact Megan Hodel if interested.

The new Church/minister directories are at the information center. There are plenty of them for you to take as many as you want for your use.

We will be having Sunday morning services at the home this month starting at 8:45am. Everyone is welcome to attend to support our many residents at the home in Eureka.

There is clothes packing tomorrow night at HarvestCall at 6:30.

HarvestCall Projects will be held on Tuesday at the Fellowship Hall, with babysitting provided. We will be collecting canned food items.

We plan to listen to part 2 of the Vision podcast by Brothers Bruce Endress, Nick Gutwein, Kevin Ryan and Arlan Miller this Wednesday in place of regular services. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a 3 couple church wedding shower for Drew Gerber and Taylor Wiegand, Felix and Audrey Ruegsegger, and Rob Rieke and Melissa McGregor on Saturday, March 14 from 9-10 AM in the Gathering Room. Please bring $5-10 and a paper product for each couple. See Sis. Elli Berardi if you have any questions.

There will be singing at the home this Saturday starting at 6:45pm. You can sign up via this link or at the sign-up sheet at the information center at church.

Goodfield is hosting on Saturday, April 18th, the Apostolic Christian Medical Fellowship Day. This is a national Apostolic Christian Church event and we hope to welcome guests from many of our churches. The day is designed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of those within our fellowship that are interested or work in medical or dental professions, as well as deepen our commitment to service and spiritual growth. The day includes topics such as memory care, addictions, mental health depression and suicide, and foster/adoption. If you plan to attend, please sign-up at the back hall. As our physical heart beats and pumps life into our bodies, so is our spiritual heart the core lifeline into our souls. This month’s study will cover reasons and ways to exercise your physical and spiritual heart. Bring your Bible, and hope to see you there.

The guys’ Bible study will be at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s home at the same time.

The annual benefit auction and bake sale for the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka is on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Eureka Middle School. The bake sale and breakfast start at 7:30 AM and the auction begins at 9 AM. Donated items, as well as baked goods will be needed. The Bloomington Midwest Food Bank Gala Dinner and Benefit Auction will be Saturday, April 18th. For tickets or to make a donation, please contact Sisters Paula Hartman, Kary Wiegand or Alice Ruegsegger. Thanks for supporting Midwest Food Bank!

The Goodfield Vision Steering Team held their second meeting on 2/12 to discuss the next steps of this present effort in gaining further understanding of how our church family feels that they are supported and equipped in their personal walk with Christ through our church here in Goodfield. The Team discussed areas of concern that they have heard regarding this effort and how we as a Team can serve each one of you better as we seek to gather this information from our church family. The Team further discussed how this information would be obtained from the church. In the coming weeks, you will be hearing more about our Four Pillar Mission in preparation for the Church Health Survey which will be distributed to our church family to complete individually. This survey will be distributed in order to gain understanding of how well each individual feels that their personal walk with Christ is being nurtured through our local church in Goodfield. How well Goodfield church is adhering to Biblical principles through the stewardship of its various ministries and opportunities; and lastly, how well they feel that their individual talents and gifts are being supported and encouraged unto further good works. Eventually, following the completion of the Church Health Survey by our church family, results will be reviewed, formalized, shared, and discussed further through focus groups (small group discussion) with our church family for the purposes of clarification and how to move forward in light of what we’ve identified as a church family.

Sister Elna Grimm has recently been admitted to Eureka hospital. Please be prayerful that she could recover soon.

We are very thankful to announce that Kaitlyn Wiegand has turned her life over to the Lord in repentance. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Bro. Doug and Sis. Lynn Wiegand. Please be prayerful for her as she begins her walk with the Lord.

Our collection for the month of February is for the Apostolic Christian Church HarvestCall Mission Collection. Contributions support our church’s work in spreading the gospel message of salvation. Your donations are used to: Distribute Bibles throughout the world, Fund missions in Mexico, the Caribbean, India, and Japan (this includes our Sister Erin Davis), Support prison ministries, Translate, print and disperse hymnbooks, tracts and other materials, Build church facilities in Europe, Assist our small congregations, Add Christian literature into HarvestCall aid shipments, AC publications and much more. There will be ACTIVE this Wednesday evening.

We will be having the Adult Bible Study at the Fellowship Hall each Sunday morning in February starting at 10am. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend or a neighbor. Bro. Kent will be teaching the class.

There are a few extra Integrity Bible studies in the women’s coat room. If you would like to study on your own please feel free to take one.

We plan to have singing at the Eureka Home at 6:45 this Saturday, February 8th.We would like to have at least 30 people to attend the singing. It's a great opportunity for each of us to interact with our loved ones at the home. Please consider the blessing that you will receive for attending.

It’s that time of year again to vote for Sunday school teachers and trustees. If you did not send in your ballot there is still time to do so. Please have them in the mail by Tuesday of this week.

Our Goodfield church family and Bible Class is hosting another ACYF evening program next Sunday the 16th. Please come join us in worshipping God in song with high school students from our neighboring congregations. We will begin singing promptly at 5:45 PM with the program beginning at 6:00. The program should be about an hour long.

For our topical Bible study this Wednesday evening Bro. Frank Sauder plans to be here and talk about God’s design in gender distinction. This would be a great opportunity for all of us including the Young Group and Bible Class students.

Our dear sister Joy Hohulin passed away recently. Her visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church on Tuesday with visitation before from 9:00 to 9:45. It is group 3’s turn to help and bring food. Please be prayerful for Bro. Jim and his family.

Next Sunday would be a good day to invite a minister as we will be very slim.

There is an opening at LifePoints that could be a good opportunity for someone who is looking to serve others and has some good skills. Because the position is currently open they would appreciate knowing of any interest by February 21. LifePoints is seeking a Social Services/Mission Director (SSMD). Specific responsibilities of the position include maintenance of the agency waiting list for residential placement and overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges. They will lead the development of and communication of the agency Mission with staff and volunteers. The SSMD must embody the following traits: support the values and vision of the agency, an ability to advocate and enable growth in our residents as well as possess strong communication skills. The SSMD will also monitor the Agency Corporate Compliance Program and Agency HIPPA compliance programs.

LifePoints mission: to provide loving service to adults with developmental disabilities.

We serve residents in a wide range of settings including our 73-bed ICF-DD, two 16 bed group homes, and several residential Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) settings. We are seeking candidates with an ability and passion to help us carry on our mission.

This is a reminder of the young group girls’ Bible study this coming Tuesday evening in the Gathering Room starting at 7:00 pm. Please bring your Bible and join us as we begin to embark on a journey called Heart Check 2020.

The guys’ Bible study will be at Bro. Rick and Sis Stacie Bauman’s home at the same time.

Our Goodfield Vision steering team met last week at the FH with Bro. Arlan Miller. We spent most of our time learning to know each other and how we can work effectively as a team. Our goal is that as a church family we will all feel more loved, equipped and enabled to identify and align our present and potential ministries more closely to our scriptural calling as well as our global purpose and vision. Please feel free to reach out to anyone on the vision steering team for more insight or if you have any questions. There are extra handouts that give an explanation of our process and also list the team members. There is an omission in the packet as Bro. We are very thankful to report that Sis. Connie Gerber’s surgery was successful and that she was discharged yesterday and is currently at home recovering. Update on Sis. Lynn Wiegand: Her recent surgery went well. There were some dehydration issues that occurred that caused her to stay in the hospital for about a week longer, but she is home now & recovering nicely. Sis. Lynn and family would like to thank you for all your love & prayers!

Our Church vision is “a body of believers, bound together by our love for Jesus Christ and His Word, reflecting God’s love, grace, and truth” and our purpose is “To glorify God by loving as Jesus loves” Since we have established our Vision and Purpose we are planning to form a vision group to look at our Goodfield congregations present activities and ministries to ensure alignment with our purpose and vision and to strengthen them and also to see if there are any areas where we are lacking. If any Brother or Sister would be interested in serving in this group please let Bro. Jeff Grimm know in the near future. We hope to get as many in our church family as possible involved in this effort in some way or another.

Note from Sis. Lynn Wiegand: I would first like to thank everyone for your prayers, cards, emails since my cancer diagnosis. I have really felt God’s love through you all. I am completely finished with my chemo & radiation treatments and will be having surgery this Wednesday. Please pray for my surgeon so that my surgery is successful & recovery is quick. Thank you & I love you all!

We rejoice with Bro. Keith & Sis. Perri Grimm as they were blessed with a baby girl, Vivian Ruth on November 22nd.

We are having the Adult Bible study series at the Fellowship Hall this month each Sunday morning starting at 10am. Bro. Nathan plans to teach. Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor.

Women Helping Women - evening event for Goodfield Church women will be this Tuesday, November 19 at the Fellowship Hall from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Please join us as we get together for a dinner, followed by cutting and tying fleece blankets for the Empower Life Center (formally the Women's Pregnancy Center) at the Fellowship Hall. We will also be collecting items for the layette kits the center gives to newborns whose mom has come to the center (See details below). All ages who can participate and are welcome (moms can decide if their young daughter is old enough to come.) Please see Sis. Brittany Zeltwanger or Ellie Gramm if you have any questions.

Below we have listed the items for the layette kits. Most of the women served by the Empower Life Center do not receive a baby shower before having a new baby. They really look forward to receiving the layette kits while they’re still in the hospital, and the center can always use kits or even single items donated! All items need to be new. If you would like, you can make a kit by yourself or make one with another person or group of people or just bring in a few items. EVERYTHING will be used by babies who are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Savior!

Bro. Wayne Banwart (elder in Champaign) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer recently. He’s been going through treatments but as you know that’s a very serious disease. Please be very prayerful for the Champaign church and Bro. Wayne. This could affect our church in another way as Wayne and the brothers there have asked Bro. Jeff Grimm to help in Champaign if need be. They do have an ordained deacon, Bro. Brian Waibel and we are prayerful that maybe they will begin the elder process there the beginning of the year. Depending on how things go for Wayne they might need some additional help from Bro. Jeff & Sis. Ruth. Bro. Jeff will keep us informed.

Bro. Frank Sauder (Roanoke) contacted Bro. Jeff Grimm, Bro. Trent Meiss (Eureka), and Bro. Zach Anderson & Bro. Rick Plattner (Congerville) and they’ve agreed as 4 local churches that there will be an announcement in this week’s Thursday Woodford County Journal letting people know that we have church services on Thanksgiving Day and that they are welcome to attend any of the four churches.

I am sad that a day that has been historically set aside to give God thanks is now focused on feasting, watching football and Black Friday shopping. The greatest disappointment is that hardly any churches offer a worship service on Thanksgiving Day. While those in our communities know that we meet on Sunday and Wednesday night, they are not aware that we have continued the tradition of worshiping on Thanksgiving Day even though it has been pretty much discontinued throughout Woodford County and the nation. I think it would be a blessing to make it known that worship on Thanksgiving Day is important and that all are welcome.

Let’s welcome any and all who may attend with us especially if we get some extra visitors and show them the love of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for your support and efforts at the Eureka Home Benefit dinner. Over $20,000 was raised to support our residents.

The Auction Committee would like to thank everyone who helped with the Hospital Lumiere auction - both as a worker and as a generous donor. The evening was very well attended. Many of you may have noticed Goodfield Sunday School children working to clear tables and help with the dinner. We are grateful for servant hearts and parents who were willing to bring their kids to help. The ability and enthusiasm of the kids was commented on by many people. It is a joy to see young people helping in service to the Lord.

Thanks to all of you for the prayers regarding Bro. Roger Gerber and his back surgery. The surgery went well. The surgeon said he was much worse than he thought, but was very happy with the outcome of the surgery. Roger has had horrific pain in his legs and knees due to the nerves trying to recover after being packed in there for so long, but he’s pushing through! Each day the pain is getting a little better. However, he has been experiencing unbearable headaches. We are asking for prayers that they can figure out what is causing these and that they can get them under control. He is getting excellent care at the hospital! We are so thankful for the skilled and caring doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. Thanks again to all of you for the continued love and prayers. We appreciate them all very much. ~The Gerber family.

Bro. Don and Sis. Carolyn Ott are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on November 14th. We are so thankful for strong marriages and families. We are very blessed.

Note from Bro. Ben Wiegand regarding Washington D.C. congregation:

Recently, through email and pulpit announcements, the entire Apostolic Christian brotherhood was made aware of exploratory efforts to "replant" the D.C. church. Couples, families and singles were asked to prayerfully consider joining this undertaking. To date, Bro. Greg and Sis. Mary Beutel and family (Tremont, IL) and Sis. Adrienne Kaehr (Bluffton, IN) have heard God’s call and feel led to come and support this endeavor. While this couple and sister have both had clear direction and a faith-building calling to this, we want to support them with additional believers in order to move forward. They have had a chance to come to the D.C. area and visit with the local brethren in late September, and after additional prayer, have continued to feel God’s calling.

The goal of the church plant effort is to attract a functioning church community of families, couples, and single brothers and sisters. Additionally, there is a desire for a local minister and an active Sunday School.

During initial conversations, the Beutel’s and Adrienne have felt a leading to bring our Apostolic Christian Church's strong sense of community and belonging to the neighborhood by building intentional relationships with neighbors. Initially, this might look like hosting community gatherings at the current church house, organizing summer VBS programs, and distributing groceries to disadvantaged families in the area. As relationships grow, they believe that God will show them the needs that he would like them to meet. Their sincere hope is that this purposeful vision for the replant will stimulate others to come and join in this important biblical calling.

We are asking anyone interested in making a difference in the Washington D.C. area to prayerfully consider answering the call and share your interest by December 15, 2019. Our recommendation has been to those who are considering this opportunity, please counsel with your local elder. If after talking with him you feel led to join the exploration of the church plant effort, contact Elder Bro. Ben Wiegand (bwiegan@its.jnj.com, 908-405-6324), or the CEC (cec@harvestcall.org).

In this effort, and in every part of our lives, we trust in the One who knows best. We plan to have singing at the Eureka Home on this Saturday, November 9th. Due to extremely low turnouts we have decided to have a signup sheet each month for this. The benefit auction for Hospital Lumiere is planned for this Friday, November 8 at Five Points in Washington, Illinois. The food court and silent auction start at 4:30. The live auction begins at 7:00. This annual fund-raising auction is a critical part of Hospital Lumiere’s funding and your support is appreciated. Goodfield has been asked to provide volunteers for many tasks including Food Court, Silent Auction, and help with carrying out items. Bible class, Young Group, and Sunday school kids over the age of 10 are needed from 4:30 on for a multitude of tasks. Adults are welcome too! We are returning to Texas in 2020 to continue helping in their recovery and Orange County, Texas will be the location of our next Winter Rebuilding Ministry. (This is just east of the 2019 location, Hardin County.) Homes will be built or repaired for those who have not been able to recover on their own from Hurricane Harvey. And, as we do, we’ll be focused on sharing the love of Christ and the gospel message of salvation. Just like last year, in order to give everyone equal chance at the limited spots available, registration will open at a set date and be first come — first served. Registration opens at noon Central Time on November 18 on the HarvestCall website.

Effective Jan 1, 2020, the Goodfield Distribution Center is discontinuing its Furniture Distribution effort. Effective immediately; furniture, appliances, baby items or bed and/or mattress donations are not being accepted. Any questions should be directed to Bro. Norm Ricketts. Also (as previously announced) there is a great need for clothing, shoes, pillows and bed sheets to send overseas.

Jonas and Savannah Wiegand are at peace with God and man and desire baptism. Please pray for Jonas and Savana and encourage them during this most important time in their life. If you have any words of encouragement or concerns, please contact them. Jonas and Savannah are the children of Bro. Erik and Sis. Carrie Wiegand. We know there is joy in heaven because of this and we are rejoicing as well.

This Wednesday evening, October 30, Brother Brad and Sister Debbie Braker from our Morton congregation will be giving a presentation on the Apostolic Christian involvement of our mission in India. This will include a live audio/visual segment with the RGMMI (Rural Gospel Medical Mission of India) pastor in India and his wife. We will be able to interact with them live and visit about their culture and christian walk with the Lord. Debbie will share with us her experience with helping teenage girls learn to bake as well as instructing them with other pieces of practical wisdom. We will be enjoying a “taste of India” afterward. It will be held at the Fellowship Hall starting at 7:30 and be in place of our Wednesday evening service.

Young Group girls’ Bible study will be this Tuesday evening at the Gathering Room at 7:00. The Young Group guys’ Bible study will be at the same time at Bro. Rick & Sis. Stacie Bauman’s house.

Bro. Kurt will be talking about “Blessed are the merciful and Blessed are the pure in heart” beatitudes from the general conference this Wednesday evening. Please listen to the talks from Bro. Ken Wuethrich and Bro. John Laukhuf.

The Eureka Home Benefit dinner on October 26 still has 10 whole empty tables - 80 seats. If you are available on this evening, please consider joining us for a wonderful meal and an evening dedicated to the Glory of God. This benefit dinner raises money for the residents at our home, buying equipment and providing opportunities for the people in our care at the Home. We are also thankful to announce that Alice Nohl is at peace with God and man. We plan to have Alice's baptism this coming Saturday, October 27th at the Home in Eureka starting at 1:30pm. We will have limited seating but everyone is welcome to attend. If you have a special connection to Alice it would be wonderful if you could be there. We are so thankful that God is still patient and calling souls to repentance and conversion.

We are thankful to announce the engagement of our Bro. Nathan Zobrist to Sis. Tabitha Koch from Tremont. Bro. Nathan is the son of Bro. Mike and Sis. Susie Zobrist and Sis. Tabitha is the daughter of Bro. Dirk and Sis. Erika Koch from Tremont. We pray the Lord will bless their union together.

Please be prayerful for our Sis. Darcy Schock as her grandma, Emma Knapp passed away. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Morton Apostolic Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 21, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m., prior to the service at the church.

Our collection for the month of October is for HarvestCall. HarvestCall has been commissioned by the Elder Body to enable the church to proclaim Christ and serve others in ways that are beyond the capacity of local congregations. The needs are great and your generosity allows us to fund the various missions in Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, Europe, the U.S., and other places. Thank you for your faithful prayers, service and financial support.

There is going to be an Awareness Tour to Jamaica January 17-21. We will be visiting the places HarvestCall is involved with on the island. If you are interested in more information please contact Bro. Alan or Sis. Joanne Roth.

Please be prayerful for our missionaries in Haiti as there have been widespread demonstrations and roadblocks due to the political unrest. Around 20 of our 37 missionaries have returned home temporarily. The ministries are not being abandoned but will operate with a reduced missionary staff.

Clothing donations are needed at our distribution center in Goodfield. If anyone has clothing that you are willing to donate please deposit them in the distribution center drop box.

We have put together a display of the Bible studies that we sell at AC Publications back at the information center. Please feel free to take them for personal Bible study. You can acquire more copies of them online or at the publications store. You can put a donation in the church collection box if you wish to. They are about $10 a piece.

Rotating Potluck is a great way to get involved and get to know our church family even better. It’s time to sign up for 2020. You can sign up to host or just sign up to come, either way is great! There is a signup at the message center. Any questions please see Sisters Joni Zacha or Jennifer Stoller.

The Home Benefit Dinner will be at 6 p.m., Saturday evening, Oct. 26, at the Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available at the Home and we encourage everyone of all age to attend the dinner. (The singing group will be Praising Hymn, a young adult group from Eureka.)

Bro. Kurt Plattner will be conducting the convert classes this month. He is planning to teach on lessons 9 & 10. The next class will be in two weeks, on Sunday, October, 27.

HarvestCall projects will be Tuesday from 9-noon in the Fellowship Hall. Babysitting is provided. We will be collecting canned goods and can openers, to send with our blankets, to the Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria.

Sis. Pat Plattner & Sis. Jill Wagner have put together a display of the Bible studies that we sell at AC Publications back at the information center. They are for you to look at and please feel free to take them for personal Bible study. If you cannot afford to pay for them that is fine but please be aware they are about $5 to $10 a piece and you can also get more copies of them online or at the publications store. You can put a donation in the box if you wish to.

If you get our weekly church announcement email, you likely noticed an "extra" email in your inbox this past Monday. In an effort to continue to involve the entire church family in our Sunday School, we are planning to start sharing more details of what we are learning each week along with upcoming events and prayer opportunities. This will allow families to have a place to start or continue conversations as you build on the lessons that our children are participating in each Sunday morning. This past Sunday morning in Sunday School we learned about putting down strong roots, and this is another opportunity for you to help nurture the seeds that were planted in Sunday School as we journey toward heaven together.

Rotating potluck is a great way to get involved and get to know our church family even better. It’s time to sign up for 2020. You can sign up to host or just sign up to come, either way is great! Loving Shepherd ministries will be having a benefit auction Friday, October 11th at Five Points in Washington. Dinner and silent auction begin at 5:30 and the live auction at 6:30. As you know, Loving Shepherd exists to provide vulnerable children with a completely unique continuum of care from childhood through adulthood, resulting in self-sufficient leaders who transform their culture for Christ.

The Home Benefit Dinner will be at 6 p.m., Saturday evening, October 26, at the Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available at the Home and we encourage everyone of all ages to attend the dinner. (The singing group will be Praising Hymn, a young adult group from Eureka.)

The Silver Lining has been an important and valued communications tool that has enhanced the connectivity and fellowship of our national Apostolic Christian Church brotherhood for many years. Gratefully, Bro. Barry and Sis. Joyce Kloter have faithfully served in the Producer and Administrative roles for many years – we owe them a debt of gratitude for their contribution and service. As time passes, they have expressed a desire to shift these duties to someone else, effective January 1, 2020. We are seeking candidates for these roles. Click-here to see a description of the Producer role. Click-here to see a description of the Administrative role. While it probably makes sense for these responsibilities to be shared by a married couple, the duties could potentially be separated and handled by two individuals with the right skill sets, connected by today’s technology and acceptable communications practices. Barry and Joyce have estimated their monthly commitment in the 25-hour range each, which has been compensated at a gross combined rate of $1,250 per month (~$25.00 per hour). While this rate is negotiable, it probably won’t change substantially from the current position. If anyone is interested in pursuing this position please let Bro. Jeff Grimm know.

ACTIVE will begin this Wednesday night, October 2nd. This will be for Pre-K through High School. 5th thru 8th grades will be having an invite a friend wiener roast in the Gathering Room so please have your children invite a friend. Please note that Pre-K is the youngest age group for ACTIVE. If you have any questions, please contact Sis. Beth Sauder.

The conference we hosted in August contained some wonderful teachings on the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5. This year, we would like to do something a little different to help enhance our learning. Each of the ministering brothers will spend a Wednesday evening starting in October to cover one or two of the conference topics. They will use the conference speaker's talk and scripture references as a springboard for a Bible study on the Beatitudes. Please take the opportunity to listen to the conference recordings on the AC Central App prior to that evening. Bro. Jeff Wiegand will cover the first two topics Wednesday, October 2nd. The speakers are Bro. Rick Plattner and Bro. Duane Farney. You can listen to these talks on AC Central or get a copy of the conference CDs in the back or you can read it via the transcription copy.

The young group guys’ Bible study will be at Bros Gage and Roman Bauman’s home at the same time.

Sis. Mae Kelley has developed pneumonia and would appreciate the prayers of the church family.

Bro. Mike Hinrichsen suffered extensive burns yesterday and was transferred to Springfield Memorial Medical center. He and Sis. Gerri would like to thank the church family for your prayers and for continued prayers as the healing journey begins.

Over the past 6 years we have had the privilege to mentor and teach over 30 couples premarital counseling to strengthen their marriages. We have many strong marriages in our church family and would like to develop a ‘best practices’ list for all of us to learn from. For example: finding common hobbies to do together, praying out loud together each night, reading and discussing books on how to focus and apply biblical principles to your marriage, date nights etc . We would like to ask any married couple to share what they do to strengthen and help their marriage flourish. If you could email, text or call Bro. Jeff Grimm with this in the next few weeks it would be greatly appreciated. We will then communicate this to the church family. Also, we are making the marriage binder used in our premarital counseling available for everyone to take at the back message center. You are welcome to take these and encourage you to go through them together as a couple. If you wish to have a mentor couple to share and teach with you, please let bro. Jeff know.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your personal ministries of sharing your time and talents with others in need, as well as praying for others and showing unconditional love. May your spirit of authentic Christianity be blessed.

Thanks to all for giving of your time and talents as we hosted the conference together this year! It is a blessing to work together as a church family as we glorify God by loving as Jesus loves. Brotherhood Operations Fund

This is a new fund to cover the costs of operating an international denomination. [Previously these expenses were covered by the Mission Fund, then later HarvestCall. However, these types of costs did not align well with an organization like HarvestCall, so a separate fund was established for better clarity and transparency for donors.] In addition, it provides financial backing for the church’s new communications ministry.

What it funds

Many of the things the Brotherhood Operations Fund pays for have a long history, such as support for AC Publications, development costs for AC Central, the denomination website, The Silver Lining, labor costs to manage and maintain all of the former, elder meetings and travel, subsidy for ACCFS’s support of the Elder Body, liability insurance, etc.

Much of this now falls under Onward Media, which has a vision for producing and disseminating church-strengthening content. Examples of this include producing Around the Table, updated Sunday School/VBS curriculum, and developing other teaching resources.

Also included is the new Elder Teaching Resource initiative, which provides research and development assistance to the Elder Body for creation of biblical teaching materials.

With a starting annual budget of $630,000, funds are needed. We plan to incorporate this fund into our general fund collection in Goodfield. It amounts to about $60 per member per year.

Due to ACYF day in Forrest on the 15th, we plan to have convert classes Sunday the 22nd during afternoon church, and Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30pm. Bro. Nathan still plans to cover lessons 7 & 8.

Our first ACTIVE of the year will start this Wednesday.

In appreciation and thankfulness for hosting the conference and for all the time and talents shown, the Fall Family Hymn Sing will include a Steak Dinner, on Sunday, September 22nd at 5 PM at the Fellowship Hall. Following dinner, we will have a singing and show slides taken during the conference. Please sign up at the message center so we can plan the meal. Any questions please contact Sisters Amy Hinrichsen or Lori Wiegand.

The trustees would like to keep the south side of the church sidewalk free of vehicles to comply with a recommendation from the Eureka-Goodfield Fire District, local police and village snow plows. Most Sundays there are at least 20 open parking spots that are unused. We encourage everyone to park in a parking spot and not along the sidewalk areas or encroach on the Village of Goodfield right-of-way along the south side.

There will be a fundraiser for Peoria Rescue Mission called HopeWalk on Saturday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is a two mile walk starting at 601 SW Adams next to Dozer Park. Our September collection is for Hospital Lumiere in Haiti. It takes a large sum of money to maintain a 120-bed hospital in Haiti. By the grace of God, the Haitians have asked our Apostolic Christian Church to oversee & manage this hospital. Please consider giving to this very worthy cause.

Gateway Woods Auction Report. By Auction day, over 2,000 items were donated by you, many of you giving hours of your precious time, many of you generously spending your hard earned money, all combined to make the absolutely perfect day – topped off by blue skies with a gentle breeze occasionally moving through the tents. One of the highlights of the day is always watching old friends from Sunday School days, young group years, college semesters, and old army buddies seeing each other again and catching up after time apart. By the end of the day, $637,134.00 was raised, including $58,000.00 from the 224 bikers!

Sis. Joy Roth will be taking Sis. Maribeth Rocke’s term teaching Sunday School starting today. When a new teacher is needed for any reason we always go back and look at the last ballot and take the next eligible person to serve in that role.

The adult friends Bible study started today and will continue through September. It will start at 10am each Sunday morning in the Gathering Room. Bro. Kurt will be teaching. Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor.

Over the years, the Elder Body has considered the need to teach and equip our ministering brothers and teachers so that they may more effectively present doctrinal truths based on the Word of God. Realizing the time commitment required to research and develop structured biblical teachings, Bro. Fred Witzig, minister from our Washington, IL congregation, has been asked to serve as a full-time resource to the Elder Body. As directed by the Elders, Bro. Fred — and others in our church who are gifted in study and teaching — will research various biblical doctrines and principles as well as provide historical perspective. Our purpose in this effort is to strengthen our ministering brethren across the globe and bless our church body as we grow together in Christ’s love, grace, and truth.

There has been some inquiry as to the CD that was produced as a gift to the elder wives the week of the conference. It is a collection of various performing music groups of our Goodfield congregation. These CD’s will be made available for the public to purchase around the end of September. They will be placed at the message center upon arrival, and you can purchase as many as you wish by leaving cash or a check made payable to “Rejoice Distribution”. We will keep you posted on availability.

There have been many texts, emails, and letters of thanks to the Goodfield congregation for the love and care that was shown to the elders, their wives, and many others during the week of the conference. We will be posting a few of the notes on the back hall bulletin board.

Sunday School begins September 8th. Please sign up 3 year olds in the back hall. Children are eligible if they are 3 by September 1 and potty-trained. See Sis. Serena Bauman or Sis. Becky Roberts with questions.

We will have our Adult Friends Bible Study in the month of September. It will be each Sunday morning in September beginning on Sept. 8 (not Labor Day weekend) at the Fellowship Hall. Bro. Kurt Plattner will be leading these studies.

For those who have picked up the missionary prayer cards in the past, there are updates at the information center. If you do not have a packet and would like one, please let Bro. Dale Wyss know and he will get you one.

Pam Knapp has turned her life over to Jesus in repentance. Please be prayerful for her as she grows in Christ. Pam is the wife of Ken Knapp who is the son of our Sister Wilma Knapp. Some of you went to school with Pam as she was a Snyder and her parents owned Snyder Hardware in Eureka. We are very thankful that God is still calling souls to Him. ��

We want to thank you all again for an amazing conference week bringing glory to God and loving together as Jesus loves! We won't begin to try to list individual thank you’s for the selfless acts that we saw in the past week (and months prior to that), because we won't know where to end and will leave someone out unintentionally. We also realize that there were many things done that we won't ever even know about. So, thank you! Thanks for giving of your time, your talents, and sharing the love of Jesus. We were blessed by each of you, and we will never know the extent of the blessing that your actions were to so many others.

Berean Prison Ministries will be holding their annual banquet on Sept. 12th at 6:00pm at 5 Points in Washington, IL. This year’s banquet will include the testimonies of those that have been converted in prison through the service of brethren that have shared a Bible and the truth of God’s Word. One brother was recently baptized in the Peoria Congregation after spending 20 years in prison. Gracia Burnam will also share her story of being held hostage along with her husband for over a year in the Philippines after 9-11. Gracia was wounded and her husband was killed during their rescue.

We are looking for volunteers to help serve at the banquet. We are especially encouraging young groups to get involved to serve on Sept. 12th at 5 Points in Washington, IL at 6:00PM.

On behalf of the ISU Young Group, we are seeking to reach any incoming freshman and returning students attending Illinois State, Wesleyan, or Heartland Community College in the upcoming academic year. We know how important plugging into a Christ-centered group is, especially in your first year of college. Thus, our group is hosting its annual Welcome Night on August 18, 2019. This evening is meant to be an informational meeting about our young group, but more importantly as a night to become acquainted with one another in anticipation for the upcoming school year. A pizza dinner will begin at 4:00 at the Bloomington church, and parents are encouraged to attend!

The Silver Lining has been featuring special topical sections with submissions from our readers. You are encouraged to contribute. The next topic is: What are practical ways to maintain contentment when it’s so easy to compare and complain? Let us encourage one another to experience the “great gain” of contentment and avoid temptations and snares. We focused first on prayer and preparing our hearts last Sunday, but we will be providing a final update and handout on Sunday, August 4th that covers many of the logistical details for the week (what to wear, where to park, where to check in, find food, etc.). Please also mark your calendar for our Tuesday night midweek service on August 6th. Services will start early with a song service at 6:45. We would love to see the sanctuary full that night. Sis. Loretta Hess is in the hospital. She was admitted with a very painful infection and would appreciate the prayers of the Church. She is doing a little better but not ready for visitors yet.

Sis. Molly Davis and her family would like to thank our church family for their prayers. Although the surgery was more complicated than anticipated, it was successful.

The girls young group Bible Study will be this coming Tuesday in the Gathering Room starting at 7:00. We will be starting a new series entitled “Be Still and Know”. Bro. Matt Kaufmann and Bro. Brian Sutter will be sharing about the importance of cultivating the discipline of spiritual quietness. Please bring your Bible.

The Guys Bible study will be held at Bro. Rick & Sis. Stacie Bauman’s home at the same time.

There will be all church cleaning this week, July 22-27. Cleaning supplies and instructions will be set out on Monday morning. We are looking forward to Vacation Bible School beginning tonight, July 15th. Our three year old through 8th graders will be meeting downstairs Monday through Friday evening. They should go to the grade level of the class they just completed in the 2018-19 school year. We will start with singing in the main Sunday School assembly room promptly at 7:00 PM. Your children will be ready to be picked up at 8:30 PM. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights there will be Adult VBS in the church sanctuary as well. Everyone is invited to come join our Bible Class for teaching and song worship these three nights. VBS is a great opportunity to invite a friend to worship and learn with us. On Monday night Kirk Plattner from West Lafayette will be speaking and Mediocre Melodies will be singing. Friday night is pie night and there is a sign-up sheet at the message center for anyone who would be willing to make a pie. We are asking all woman of our Goodfield Church to participate in writing small notes of encouragement and prayers to the Elder's wives who will be attending the conference this year. These note cards will be given to them the week of the conference. We want to express our love and appreciation by praying for them. At the message center are the note cards to use, as well as instructions for you. This is something that all women and girls can do to help us connect on a personal, as well as spiritual level. Thank you to all who signed up to help with Vacation Bible School this year. There will be a short meeting in the lunchroom immediately following afternoon church today for all who signed up to teach or help with crafts.

The young group girls' Bible study will be held this coming Tuesday evening at the Gathering Room starting at 7:00 pm. The topic of discipleship will be discussed and tied in to the experience of the Tennessee Mission Trip, as well as other examples of faithful mentors who have come along side each of us. Bring your Bibles.

The young group guys' Bible study will be at the same time at Bro. Jeff & Sis. Ruth’s house. Bro. Nathan Wiegand will be leading the study.

Adult Encourager program:

1. As this is presented to the students, they will be given a list of people in the church who are 25 years and older to choose from. If you are in this age group, please be prayerful and willing to mentor if a student chooses your name.

2. The students will pick 5 people they would like to connect with and then they will be paired up with 1 adult after the committee prays over the names and facilitates the connections. The goal is to spread this out through the congregation so that the adults aren’t mentoring multiple students.

3. Each year, the students will be paired with someone different. The goal is that each student will connect with 4 adults during their time in high school. Studies have shown that when there are more connections between generations, there is a higher likelihood that the students will feel welcome and want to attend that church.

We are planning testimonies and baptisms for Diane Gregory on June 29th and 30th. Her testimony will start at 7pm on Saturday the 29th. It is Group 1’s turn to help and bring food.

We plan to cancel Wednesday evening services this week due to the testimony Saturday night.

We are very thankful that Katie’s bone scan was negative. She begins her chemo on Thursday. Please continue to pray for Katie and their family.

We rejoice with Cade and Emrie Knapp as they have turned their life over to the Lord in repentance. Cade and Emrie are the son and daughter of Bro. Ryan and Sis. Liz Knapp. May they feel God’s nearness and grace. We are so thankful that God is still patient and calling souls to repentance and conversion.

As mentioned recently, we are planning to start a program to help grow relationships between the adults in our Goodfield church family and our high school Sunday School students. Click-here to view the highlights for the program that we plan to implement for the 2019-2020 school year.

The most powerful way to learn isn’t through hearing and reading. It is through journeying through life together in relationships. The biggest impact for learning is demonstrated and lived-out or experienced through someone else. It is what sticks in your mind. In a classroom, a teacher attempts to get a point across through saying things in the right words or get across in the right podcast or write it and get it in the right book, or presentation or lecture. That would cover everything. But this concept of discipleship goes much deeper than that. It is very freeing! You don’t have to worry about having all of the answers written in textbooks and so forth to offer help. All you have to do is: Live – Breathe – Interact – Care -, and just walk alongside someone. It is similar to parenting; a tie of on-going relationship and teaching. We ask that each of you review this and reach out to one of the committee members with any questions. Thank you! They are Bro. Due to poor drainage issues, the landscaping on the south side of the church needs to be replaced. We will be having a volunteer work opportunity this Saturday, June 15th from 8:00am-12:00pm. The Proclaim & Serve Missions Conference is an annual event for all Apostolic Christians who have interest in cross-cultural missions. It will be held in Roanoke on Saturday, July 20th. The Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka will again be participating in a Summer Junior Volunteer Program. This program is open to students entering the 7th grade through High School. Orientation will be held Thursday, May 30 @ 1:30 in the Upstairs Activity Room (parents welcome). It is helpful to bring your calendars. Summer Junior Volunteer Program runs from June 3-August 9, 2019. More info will be posted at the info. center and was sent out in an email last week.

Bro. Kevin Wiegand was supported for the assistant Sunday School Superintendent position starting in September of this year. Please be prayerful for Bro. Kevin and Sis. Lindsay in this important work.

The Apostolic Christian Brotherhood Operations Fund is now set up and is functional. The new fund exists to provide funding for expenditures of the Apostolic Christian Church of America at a brotherhood-wide level including Elder Body and various corporate, legal, and certain legacy costs associated with being a national body. Administration of the fund will be guided by the principle that the brotherhood provides significant strengths and blessings worthy of financial support and that such expenses which support those strengths and blessings are enthusiastically encouraged. An initial grant of approximately $200,000 has been received from HarvestCall as part of the transition of management of these expenses to the new fund. Per our August decision, future funding is to be provided through on-going annual support from our congregations. We would encourage consideration of an annual collection or some form of annual contribution from each congregation in order to meet these needs. Annual reports will be provided, including anticipated needs in the upcoming year. At this point Bro. Martin plans to contribute to this fund out of our general fund collection. This fund was originally paid out of the mission fund but will now be separate.

We are thankful to share that Ethel Finley has expressed a desire to renew her membership in our church. We plan to have a reinstatement on Wednesday, June 12th and Bro. Kent Heimer plans to be with us.

Diane Gregoire is at peace with God and man and desires baptism. Please pray for Diane and Ethel and encourage them during this most important time in their life. The Bible Study committee has been approached over the years about various other avenues for Biblical learning. One constant area is women ministering to other women. After prayerful thought, it was decided to survey the women to see what all your thoughts are on these options. Many of you women received the survey Saturday at the Ladies’ Brunch. They ran out of copies so it was emailed out. If you have filled yours out, please put it in the labeled container to at the information center. For those who did not get a survey, there are copies back at the information center. If you have any questions, see Sis. Brittany Zeltwanger.

Visitation for the Alwood and Wall families from Timberline will be at our Fellowship Hall this Wednesday from 4-6 with services at 6pm. Our church family is going to furnish a meal for them at the church at 7pm that evening. Please keep these families in your prayers during this time of extreme loss and pain.

We plan to have Good Friday services for all starting at 7pm this Friday with communion immediately after. Babysitting will be provided. There are signup sheets at the message center to sign up your kids. There is also a signup sheet for those who would be willing to babysit. Please see Sis. Amy Sinn for details.

On Easter Sunday, April 21st we will have a “sunrise service” at 7:30 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall followed by an all church breakfast. We will then have a regular morning service at 10:00 a.m. but no lunch or afternoon service that day. There will not be an Adult Topical Bible Presentation that morning.

We are excited to announce that Victory Home Care Services, our joint venture with the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke is officially licensed and open for business! We will be providing home care services such as homemaking duties, transportation, medication assistance and personal & hygiene assistance. This is private pay service and is a great way for seniors to be able to stay in their homes longer. If you know of individuals who would benefit from these service, please direct them to call our Home at 309-467-2311 or to go to www.victoryhomecare.org for additional information. Also, we are looking for caregivers with a heart to serve the senior population. Caregivers do not have to be a CNA or have prior experience, as training will be provided. If you are interested in being a caregiver, please contact the Home.

Five people lost their lives in a fire outside of Goodfield Saturday night. Please keep the families of those who died in your prayers.

Please keep all of these families in your prayers.

We plan to have our adult topical Bible presentation each Sunday morning in April except for Easter Sunday. This will be at the gathering room and will start at 10am. Bro. Jeff Wiegand will conducting the class this month.

The Trustees would like to announce that next Saturday, April 6th, is the date for the annual OUTDOOR portion of the church cleaning. Due to the annual conference , the indoor portion will be done closer to the date of the conference. We will begin around 7:30. Please bring rakes, brooms, trimmers, wheelbarrows, or other yard tools. We expect to be finished mid-late morning.

The HeartHouse will be having their annual Spaghetti Supper on Thursday, April 25 in the Heart House Community Room. Doors will be open from 3:30-7:30pm. Dine in or carry out. They are in need of items for a bake sale the same night. Details will be posted at the message center.

Our congregation will be supporting the Eureka Area Food Pantry in the month of April. There are many In need of this assistance. We would be grateful for a monetary donation, or there will also be a container in the entry for boxed cereal.

We are very thankful and rejoice with the angels that Reggie Plattner has turned his life over to the Lord in repentance. Reggie is the son of Bro. Kurt and Sis. Joan Plattner. Please be prayerful for Reggie as he begins his walk with Jesus Christ.

The Doug & Lynn Wiegand family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, cards, & texts. Lynn’s cancer has been diagnosed as stage 3. On April 2nd, she will begin chemo treatment. She also will be undergoing radiation. Surgery will be planned later in the year. Overall, the doctors are optimistic & feel this is very treatable.

Opportunity to Join Church Replant in Washington D.C.

After a lengthy period of prayer regarding the future of the Washington D.C. church, the local brethren desire to present their situation and needs to the brotherhood.

Currently the Washington D.C. congregation consists of 5 members and several other attendees that live in various areas around the city. The congregation currently worships in a "church house" in Silver Spring, a D.C. suburb. The church house is cared for by the congregation and brethren who come to stay for up to a month. In addition, the national Church provides a minister on a weekly basis to preach the Word of God.

Several members of the congregation are approaching retirement age and considering/ planning moves from the D.C. area, which raises significant questions about the future of the D.C. Church. Outreach efforts at the current location have not yielded much visible fruit in added church attendance.

Over the last 18 months, the church congregation has prayerfully been considering different options, including a "replant" of the church in a new location. This effort would require 4-6 new couples/families and any single brothers/sisters who feel God’s direction to move to Washington D.C., including some who would be willing to serve in leadership capacities. This could result in identifying a new location, potentially in a more urban area, where the Gospel message is sorely needed. The local brethren are willing to help support this effort, as they search out God’s direction in their lives.

The Washington D.C. region is in great need of the gospel, and the congregation's desire would be for a church to be developed there if this is the Lord's will, and He moves hearts to join in a replant effort. At this time, they are requesting your prayerful consideration to support this effort. If a group of brethren are not identified to help in the replant effort, the D.C. Church will transition to a satellite location and ministerial services will be coordinated through the Philadelphia brethren.

The Washington D.C. brethren are committed to prayerfully discern God’s direction over the next six months, with the intent to make a decision by the end of the summer (Labor Day).

There has been some significant damage at the Fellowship Hall over the last couple years. It appears to be unattended children that have caused this. Please be aware of this and be watchful. We are really blessed with a wonderful facility and want to take care of it in the best way possible.

We plan to have Sunrise services on Easter Sunday starting at 7:30 with breakfast for all after those services. We will then have our normal 10am Easter services. We will have Sunday school that day as well. FYI there will not be lunch or PM services on that day. It is our turn to have the services at the Eureka Home in April. The service is at 8:50 that morning and Bro. Nate Wiegand will be conducting it.

ACCFS will be having a mentoring workshop forward us at Goodfield on Monday, March 11th at the Fellowship Hall. This is for anyone in our church family who would like to learn a little bit more about mentoring and how to be more affective. This evening will begin at 6:30 and will last about two hours. We really appreciated your prayers for the Elder conference in Smithville this past week. We were blessed with a meeting where there was much respect and confidence in each other. We will plan to give a full update on the conference and the forums this winter next Sunday afternoon.

Wendy Falk at the Eureka AC Home has been asked to help get the word out for Jim Ringger and the Independent Living Unit Residents who help Jim make Rag Rugs. Jim is hoping to train 1 or 2 individuals on the Rug Loom. This wonderful group of individuals faithfully work on making rag rugs almost on a daily basis. The proceeds from the sale of these rugs benefit this Home and many rag rugs are donated to Auction’s/ Fundraisers around the area to support other Nursing Homes and worthy causes. Both men and women would make great help to Jim and his faithful team of rug makers. Any assistance in reaching potential volunteers interested in helping with this need would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank our church family for a wonderful turnout and for your heartfelt donations for the upcoming Bible Class mission trip to Tennessee. Approximately $45,000 was donated. Please pray for Sister Mildred Heinold. She had a stroke this past Tuesday. She is currently at OSF. She had some confusion and slurred speech but seems to be slowly recovering. Plans are to move her to the Eureka Home next week for rehab. She would appreciate your prayers!

Sister Susie Wyss is in the hospital out in Phoenix with heart issues, and is requesting prayers from the Goodfield Church family. Please pray for healing, as well as grace and peace if other medical procedures are necessary.

Please be prayerful for the Elder conference in Smithville, OH this week. We need and appreciate the prayers of our church family worldwide.

We rejoice with Doug Glueck as he has turned his life over to the Lord in repentance. May he feel God’s nearness and grace and the prayers of our church family. Doug is the son of George and Pauline Glueck and is the brother of our Sis. Sabrina. We are so thankful that God is still patient and calling souls to repentance and conversion.

We would like to thank our church family for a wonderful turnout and for your heartfelt donations for the upcoming Bible Class mission trip to Tennessee. Approximately $38,000 was donated Saturday evening. Special thanks to the committee, parents and most of all the students for all of their hard work. It is truly a blessing to watch our church family come together around a common mission and goal.

This Tuesday evening will be the Young Group Girls’ Bible study in the Gathering Room starting at 7:00 pm. Part Two of the Apologetics Podcast will give us insight and inspiration on ways that we can be active in “Grounding Our Faith”. Please bring your Bible.

It will also be the Guys’ Bible study at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s at the same time. An email was sent out last week with the Bible study information.

The Eureka Home Auction is still in need of donations for services and items. Donations need to be at the Home by (today) Monday, Feb 25. The breakfast and benefit auction will be held this Saturday at the Eureka Middle School. The breakfast and bake sale will start at 7:30am with the auction starting at 9. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Save the Date: ACCFS is coming on Monday, March 11th to do a Mentoring workshop for those wanting to take their mentoring skills to the next level. This is open to everyone and you are encouraged to attend.

Some of you may remember Elsie Jean Knobloch (Ott). She is Jake and Lavina Ott’s daughter. Her husband, Adolph Knobloch, passed away Saturday. Visitation will be at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona, IA from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 26th. Funeral will be on Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 10:00 am at the Apostolic Christian Church in West Bend, IA with visitation there from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Please pray for Elsie Jean and her entire family.

Kaden Swords had a serious car accident earlier this week and is recovering at OSF. They do expect a full recovery, but he has had quite a bit of pain and went thru a surgery. Kaden has asked for prayers for his roommate Leroy who fell from high up and may lose the function in his arms/fingers. Please be prayerful for Kaden and Leroy during this time. Kaden is the son of Bro. Kris & Sis. Heather Swords.

We are happy to announce that Savannah Wiegand has expressed desire to seek membership in our Goodfield Church family. She has been serving the Lord for several years and was baptized in Zambia during the time her family was serving in the mission field. Please pray for her as she takes this step-in faith. We are thankful that God is still calling souls to a closer walk with him reinforced by the support of a church family. Savannah is the daughter of Bro. Erik and Sis. Carrie Wiegand.

Prayer Request: Gail Ames has been attending Goodfield Church for a couple years now. She is having knee surgery on March 4 and she would appreciate prayer.

The Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka wishes to make known to our sponsoring churches that we have a current vacancy of Duplex #514 in our Valley Court Independent Living Community. We have contacted all who are on our waiting list in November and again in February without any current interest. Our board has advised us to proceed to the next step, which is to inform our sponsoring churches of its availability. Monday, February 11th is clothes packing for Goodfield Church. This month the 7th and 8th grade kids are invited to come pack clothes at the HarvestCall building 6:30 - 8:00. Parents and siblings are welcome too! Will have pizza for the snack.

HarvestCall Projects will be held on Tuesday from 9-noon at the Fellowship Hall. Babysitting is provided and all are welcomed.

We plan to have ACCFS come and speak about mentoring and how we can be equipped to help others grow stronger in Christ. This will be held at the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday evening, February 13th.

Goodfield church will be hosting the annual Brotherhood Conference on August 6th - 9th this year. This is an opportunity for our entire church family to work together in love as we bring glory to God and serve our national church family and leadership together. Please mark your calendars as we will need each one in some role. Some roles such as committee chairs have been assigned, you can see those assignments and committee definitions by clicking here . We are currently working on determining our volunteer needs and signups will be later in the year, in the April to May timeframe. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Our Goodfield congregation has been very blessed to have Mae Kelley worshiping with us for quite some time. It is with rejoicing to announce that she has turned her life over to the Lord and desires baptism. We pray that she can feel the love of our church family, as well as God’s nearness and grace. Mae lives at Morton Villas on Queenwood. Bill Koepnick has been a faithful friend who has graciously reached out to her, bringing her to church each Sunday. He has also provided her The Word through audio due to her failing eye-sight. We are so thankful that the gospel message is still being spread, calling souls to repentance and conversion.

The Athens, AL congregation is excited to announce ALive 2019. In addition to a new name, this event also has a new vision to provide a place where brothers and sisters can come from across our brotherhood to connect and strengthen relationships, rest and become even more ALive spiritually in their Christian walk with the Lord. The event, which replaces the Athens/TN Fellowship Weekend, will be centered around the topic -- “All Things New”. This depicts what God has and is doing for the Athens congregation in leading them to a new venue for the weekend called, “The Vision”. The theme also reflects God working in each of us as we have become new creatures in HIM. Further, at various times, God calls us to do something new in our lives, and we answer that call and then walk by faith. Ministering Brothers Matt Knapp (Peachtree City, GA) and Mark Reinhard (Bluffton, IN) plan to speak on these topics during the weekend. Click-here for details and registration information.

Each year, the Apostolic Christian Church hosts a series of camps throughout the summer for young people to gather for fellowship with others within our denomination. The weekend is full of fun and spiritually uplifting activities. Members serve as our camp counselors, so if there are mature young people within your congregation that may be interested in serving in this way, please pass along the contact information to them. We have had many counselors testify of the blessing it is to get to know one another as well as the kids within their cabins. Friendships and mentoring relationships often form during these camps. For our 2019 Church Bible Study, we are focusing on “Walking in the Teachings of the Holy Scriptures”. This study is open to all and has been such a blessing to build spiritually deep relationships within our church body! Please sign up at the information center.

HarvestCall activities will be held at the Fellowship Hall on Tuesday from 9-noon. Babysitting will be provided. Please come join us!

It is our turn for singing at Life Points this coming Friday. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come. It starts at 7pm. Bro. Jeff and Sis. Janel Wiegand will be coordinating the evening. We are inviting the young group to attend this singing in place of the young group Bible study.

We will also be singing at the Eureka Home this Saturday starting at 6:45pm.

Gateway Woods has several opportunities for service minded individuals who desire to make an impact for Christ. Ministering to the fatherless and widows, which in our case are troubled youth and fractured families, is part of our churches mission through Gateway Woods. The work is challenging as we seek to help children and families achieve their God-given potential rooted on a firm foundation in Christ. We come to you as a national church ministry that seeks all employees from within the brotherhood. There are opportunities for house-parents, house parent supervisor, mentoring coordinator, and teacher. More information is posted at the information center and will be emailed out this week.

The funeral will be at the church at 10am Monday. Sis. Dort informed me that all food and job opportunities are filled. Thanks so much for helping out. Please be prayerful for the entire Edwards family during this difficult time.

Update on Bro. Ted Taufer’s surgery: They did find some cancer outside of the area but the doctor was able to get everything that he could see so they are very hopeful. They sent off some tissue for testing which he does not have the results of yet. Bro. Ted is in a lot of discomfort but things went as good or better than expected. Please continue to be prayerful for him.

We will be having services at the Eureka AC Home at 8:45 each Sunday morning in December. Any support would be appreciated.

There will be ACTIVE this week. The Bible class will be practicing for the Christmas program at the FH at the same time.

All church Christmas caroling will be Friday, December 7th at 6pm. Please meet in the church dining room. Signup sheets are at the message center. See Sisters Darcy Schock or Ashley Schieler with any questions.

Our Sunday School Christmas program will be next Sunday, December 9th in place of afternoon services.

The Young Group and Bible Class will be going Christmas Caroling on Sunday, December 9. Meet at the Gathering Room right after church. We will be returning to the Gathering Room after caroling to eat supper together.

The young group girls Bible Study will be held this coming Tuesday evening at the Gathering Room starting at 7:00pm. We are hoping for a great turn-out as it will be a summary of the Esther Study, and how we can apply the lessons learned to our lives. We will also be presenting the schedule of God-Inspiring studies for next year. Sandwiches will be served on arrival.

The Young Group Guys Bible Study will be at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s at the same time Tuesday evening. An email was sent out with information to study prior to arriving.

It’s time once again to collect items for Heartline and Heart House. Teens and pre-teens are what is typically needed the most. However, if someone really wants to buy for a baby or toddler that is completely fine too. People don’t have to limit their gift buying to this list. If there are other ideas that is totally fine. We do ask that each item does not value over $20-$25 just so that gift distribution is done fairly. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Sisters Gretchen Zimmerman or Brenna Taufer.

Our monthly collection is for the Eureka Home. We are thankful to have a wonderful place that cares deeply for our loved ones. Please consider supporting the home this month. Thanks to everyone for your support of the home benefit dinner. Over $20,000 was donated.

As a reminder to the nurses in our congregation, the Home is hosting a meeting on November 15th to share with the nurses from our sponsoring churches on new approaches on being planned in meeting the needs for seniors in our communities and seek input as they move forward. You should have all received an invitation in the past couple weeks with a request to RSVP. For planning purposes the Home would appreciate hearing from you as to whether you will be able to attend the presentation.

The Hospital Lumiere Auction committee would like to thank everyone for their attendance, generous donations, and prayers for the auction. We would especially like to thank the young people who assisted with the dining room and silent auction. We are grateful for the very necessary help of everyone.

Harvest Call Projects will be held on Tuesday (today) at the Fellowship Hall from 9-noon. Babysitting is provided. Come join us!

We will be having our monthly topical Bible study this Wednesday. Bro. Mike Kaisner from Peoria plans to be here. His topic is about God’s Daily Provision.

We will have ACTIVE this Wednesday evening for the Bible Class students only.

The elders had their Illinois regional Elder meeting Saturday in Bloomington. The scripture in Psalms 55:14 was very evident among us. Psalm 55:14 “We took sweet counsel together and walked unto the house of God in company.” Some of the topics discussed were: Developing Spiritual leaders among our Brothers, The blessings of our ACYF Fellowship, HarvestCall sending and support (We “own” the missions that we have and need to support them) How to respond to the divisive political rhetoric in our Country in a God honoring way.

A benefit auction for Hospital Lumiere is planned for this Friday, November 9 at Five Points in Washington, Illinois. The food court and silent auction start at 4:30. The live auction begins at 7:00. This annual fund-raising auction is a critical part of Hospital Lumiere’s funding and your support is appreciated.

We will be having the Adult Bible Study at the Fellowship Hall each Sunday morning in November starting at 10am. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend or a neighbor. Bro. Kent Wiegand will be teaching the class.

The Bible Class will have ACYF practice this Wednesday night at the Fellowship Hall at 7:30.

There will also be ACTIVE for all other grades this Wednesday evening.

Hardin County, Texas will be the location of our next Winter Rebuilding Ministry project. Homes will be built or repaired for those unable to recover on their own from 2017’s Hurricane Harvey. And, as we do, we’ll be sharing the gospel message of salvation. Volunteers will be needed from January 6th– March 29th, 2019. Registration will open at noon Central Time on November 15 on the HarvestCall website.

There will be a singing for the young group after baptisms at 6:00 at the Walnut Creek family center in Eureka.

The Eureka Home Benefit Dinner is Saturday, Oct 27. Tickets are now available at the Eureka Home front desk. There are many tables still available If you know of others from our neighboring churches that may want to come please encourage them. It may take a little extra effort on our part since we are having testimonies that evening. Supper is served promptly at 6:00 so it is possible to make it to testimonies at 7:00 if you are interested.

Our October collection is for Hospital Lumiere in Haiti. It takes a large sum of money to maintain a 120-bed hospital in Haiti. By the grace of God, the Haitians have asked our Apostolic Christian Church to oversee & manage this hospital. Please consider giving to this very worthy cause.

The Eureka nursing home Heiterland Coordinator is seeking volunteers to bake items for a Bake Sale held at IGA on Friday, October 5. Items need to be delivered to Eureka nursing home on Thursday, October 4th. See sign-up sheet for details. Thanks for your participation!

The Young Group Girls Bible Study will be held at Bro. Jedd and Sis. Marsha Rocke’s home this Tuesday evening starting at 7:00 pm. Chapters 17, 18, 19 will be covered in the Esther book.

The Young Group Guys Bible Study will be at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s at the same time. Please be prepared to discuss lesson number 11.

Bro. Marvin Steffen from Fort Meyers, FL plans to be with us this Wednesday evening.

Jr High ACTIVE 5th-8th will be having an invite-a-friend wiener roast on October 3rd at the FH Gathering Room.

Loving Shepherd Ministries will be hosting a meal and charity auction for the vulnerable children of Haiti and Ethiopia on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Five Points Washington. The meal and Silent Auction start at 5:30PM with the Live Auction starting at 6:30PM. Items are still needed. This year, we are requesting all bakers to submit their best desserts for a special desserts section of our Silent Auction. If you would like to donate an item and/or dessert, please contact Bro. Wade or Sis. Hallie Wettstein. The auction is a wonderful evening of fellowship and enjoyment while raising much needed funds to help the world’s most vulnerable children. There will be free childcare provided, so couples with young children are encouraged to attend.

In September we will be collecting for Apostolic Christian HarvestCall.

Local Relief:

TimberRidge is in the process of updating the resident’s rooms and have asked for volunteers to help with the painting. This project will start Monday, September 17 and be ongoing until completed. Painting of the rooms will be from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm daily. If you are willing to help with this painting project please call/text Jayne Sauder 309-642-1836.

There will be work days on Thursday's, September 20 and 27 at an elderly lady's home in Roanoke who has back problems and is unable to do the work herself. We plan to paint (indoors) and do yard work on the 20th and 27th. We would like to start at 10am. We also need a couple of handy men for some projects in the home. Please see Sis. Dawn Maloney if you can help.

Our next family hymn sing is planned for Sunday, September 23rd at Bro. Larry and Sis. Lori’s Lakehouse Cabin. We plan to have a wiener roast at 5:00 pm followed by a 6:15 pm singing. The special group that evening will be our Bible class. Food signups are at the message center. Also please bring a lawn chair for the singing. Any questions please see Sis. Lori Wiegand.

Note from Bro. Herman Glueck: Sara and I had the privilege of spending part of a day in Chicago (Northwestern Hospital downtown) (Monday 9/10) to see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in bone cancer patients. He basically told us to go ahead with radiation, there was nothing to do surgically @ this point, my hip should heal on its own assuming the radiation knocks the cancer on my hip and pelvis. So, we are very thankful for that, thank you for the prayers!! The plan is to do 10 days of radiation treatments to the hip, then start some new chemo after that. I did start radiation treatments on Wednesday (9/12) and will do that for 10 week days straight.

It exists to enable the brotherhood to come together and proclaim Christ & serve others, in the US, Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, Europe and other places as the Lord leads. Many hurting people throughout the world need our help to be lifted out of spiritual and material poverty. Although what was once two organizations —World Relief and Mission Committee — are now integrated into one, our needs did not decrease. In fact, mission opportunities are expanding as brethren hear and respond to the Lord’s call. Thank you for your love, prayers and generosity. They are critical to our mission.

HarvestCall projects will be on Tuesday from 9-noon at the Fellowship Hall. Babysitting will be provided. We will be filling school bags and tying comforters. Please join us!

Sis. Marjorie Knapp from our Congerville church passed away this morning. She is the mother of our Bro. Rick (Kathy) Knapp and our Sis. Lori (Larry) Wiegand. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, at the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church. Please be prayerful for the entire Knapp family.

For the month of August we are collecting for the Gateway woods Children’s home in Leo, Indiana. Many young lives have been changed by this ministry.

The young group girls Bible Study will be this Tuesday starting at 7:00 in the Gathering Room. Chapters 14, 15 and 16 will be discussed in the Esther Study Book.

The young group guys Bible study will be at Bro. Dan and Sis. Heidi Schumacher’s this Tuesday. The study starts at 7pm and we are on Lesson 10 in the James Bible study.

Our Adult Bible study will start this coming Sunday and each Sunday in September at the Fellowship Hall starting at 10am. This is a great opportunity to invite and friend or a neighbor.

All parents who have current 3 year olds please review the signup sheet at the Message Center. Indicate on the form if you plan on sending your child to Sunday school in September. When you review the signup sheet, please verify that your child’s name is spelled correctly and that their birthdate is correct. Sis. Marie Taufer passed away this past week. She is the Mother of Bro. Ted Taufer and Sis. Ree Hartman. Her funeral is today at the Morton AC Church starting at 10am. Please keep the Taufer family in your prayers.

For the month of August we are collecting for the Gateway Woods Children’s home in Leo, Indiana. Many young lives have been changed by this ministry.

The Home will be offering a CNA class beginning September 10th. The class is in the evenings and runs through November 2nd. There are a number of openings for the class and applications are being taken now. Becoming a Certified Nurse Aide is a special opportunity of fulfilling our call to servant hood and will be a big support in supporting our local church’s mission of serving our seniors. The Home in Eureka is looking for Volunteers to help pass mail. We have a wonderful group of regular volunteers for mail but it would be so nice to have a few extras to call when the need arises. This starts at 9:30a.m. and takes no more than an hour. Or help as a weekly Friday Newsletter Substitute, which can be passed any time of day and takes about an hour as well. Everyone is warmly invited to a Gospel concert on Friday, August 24th from 7-8:30PM at the Walton Centre in Fairbury. Dear Goodfield Church,

Tonight before I came to Wednesday night church, I was in tears. I was trying to fight the fear and anxiety I was having about going to Japan for VBS. I was debating whether or not I wanted to go to Goodfield tonight; most of the people I know were unable to attend. I felt the Spirit telling me to go so I pushed back the fear of sitting alone in a pew. There wasn’t a moment tonight that I felt rejected or alone. Not only was I encouraged by the word that went out tonight, I was also rallied around, prayed for, and encouraged! I was reminded by God’s work in the Goodfield church that this is how the body of Christ is supposed to operate. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms!

Our collection boxes are open this month for the Apostolic Christian Life Points (formerly the Handicapped Home). Please prayerfully consider the special loved ones who are served by this facility and share accordingly. May God bless you richly for giving to the Lord's work.

Our Centennial Supper starts at 5:00 pm and singing and slideshow at 6:30 tonight. The entire Goodfield community was invited so please come and share in the evening with neighbors and our church family.

The Young Group girls Bible study will be this Tuesday evening on July 17th starting at 7:00 in the Gathering Room. This is a week earlier than normally scheduled, so hopefully it works for a great turn-out. Chapters 12 and 13 will be covered in the Esther Bible Study.

They Young Group guys Bible study will be the following week (Tuesday the 24th and will be at Bro. Jeff and Sis. Ruth’s home).

Sis. Mary Steffen passed away quickly and peacefully Friday afternoon, at the Eureka Home. Sis. Mary is the mother of Bro. Mark (Sis. Joan) Steffen. Arrangements have been made for visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall on Monday, July 16 and funeral at Congerville church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, with visitation from 9:00-9:45 at the church. Burial will be in Dells Cemetery. Please keep Bro. Mark and Sis. Joan and the entire Steffen family in your prayers.

We are planning to have testimonies baptism’s for Brooke Wiegand and Marisa Herrmann on September 29th and 30th.

Ashlyn Millett has turned her life over to the Lord in repentance. May she feel God’s nearness and grace as she serves. Ashlyn is the daughter of Mike and Amy Millett of Carlock. We are so thankful that God is still patient and calling souls to repentance and conversion.

The Proclaim and Serve Missions Conference for Harvest Call will be held at the Tremont Church on Saturday, July 21st. There will be a full day of workshops, presentations, breakouts, and small group discussions on a wide variety of mission-related topics. Handouts were passed out at church today with all the info you need to sign up.

Midwest Food Bank will host a “Sharing the Blessing” Dinner and Auction on August 25 at the Morton warehouse, 700 Erie Ave. Tickets are $50 each or $400 for a table of 8. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with dinner and auction to follow. Tickets are available at the Morton or Peoria Divisions of Midwest Food Bank

During the recent 2018 TN Fellowship Memorial Day Weekend event, we were blessed with wonderful support from brothers and sisters from your church and from others across the country. We especially appreciated the large number of young people who came and the great energy they brought. On behalf of the Athens congregation and the TN Fellowship Board, I wanted to take a few minutes to say a heartfelt thank you. The Athens congregation was truly blessed and encouraged. God's presence was felt by all through the fellowship and sharing of the Word through the speakers and song.

We plan to continue hosting the TN Fellowship Weekend in 2019 (May 25-26) and pray that God will continue to be glorified through the weekend events.

After 28 years as Administrator of our Home, Bro. Tom Hoffman plans to retire at the end of the year. The Board of Directors has hired Sis. Kim Joos as his replacement. Sis. Kim is a licensed nursing home administrator and has served in the role of Assistant for the past 17 years. The Board looks forward to a smooth transition as Sis. Kim assumes the role of Administrator effective January 1st. In August, the Home will begin the process of seeking a new assistant administrator. If you have any questions please feel free to visit with one of your congregation’s Board representatives.

We rejoice with Jared and Sarah West as they were blessed with a baby boy, Declan Cain on June 11.

Please pray for our Leo, IN church family as there was an accident last week on their way home from a Bible Class mission trip. Three brothers were injured while changing a tire. Jason Kilgus, Joseph Beer, & Mike Klopfenstein were the brothers. Please be prayer for them and their families.

Here is an update on Jason if you want to pass it along:

As of tonight, Jason is still in the trauma area due to continued observation. He is able to talk some and knows who we are and remembers some of the accident. His face is pretty beat up in a few areas including his left eye which he can’t open due to swelling and some abrasions. No head or brain injuries or concerns according to the doctors and nurses. And no sign of internal organ damage. Which is a TOTAL MIRACLE from what his body went through getting hit. So thank you so much for your prayers!!

As far as his other injuries, his left leg is broke in two places and he is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 10. His pelvis is broke/fractured in two places. The plan is to do surgery Monday on that if the leg surgery goes well. He has a partially punctured lung that should heal on its own (praise God). His left collarbone is broke. He is complaining a lot of pain in his back but hopefully that’s becuz they have him laying flat for so long and they aren’t allowing him to turn or change positions too much, etc.

We want to thank everyone for all the prayers that are ascending to our awesome God. And that were prayed before this trip and during this trip as The outcome could have been much more tragic. If you want to pray specifically, we ask for prayer regarding Jason’s pain, that God will guide the doctors that perform his upcoming surgeries, and that He will continue to heal his body, as the road to recovery looks long, especially for an energetic, hardworking husband and dad. :).

Thank you again for being a praying, caring church family. We are blessed by you.

Text received from Lynn Stieglitz this evening, Sunday:

Joe & Heather Beer will be home by 6 pm tonight. He's in pain, but was able to walk slowly, yet unassisted, this morning as they headed out.

Both Mike and Jason are out of surgery and both surgeries went well. Mike's pelvis was repaired with many screws. His foot should be fine, but his knee requires further evaluation.

Jason's leg was repaired and is looking good. There was collateral damage to his knee which will require further evaluation. The surgeon began stabilization of the pelvis to support Jason's leg, but further work will be required. It appears his shoulder injury will repair itself.

Both brothers and their families express deep appreciation for all the prayers. Keep it up!

Beer Family update:

Joe, Heather, Hannah & Connor did, indeed, arrive home about 6 pm this evening. He is trying to control the pain with meds. His right hand is swollen, numb and unmovable, as well as his right knee being unmovable. He has many contusions and abrasions on his body.

The entire Beer family is extremely grateful for all the prayers, love and concern shown. Thank you all so much ... please keep praying!

Heather thinks Joe could tolerate short visits, but call ahead to be sure he is awake!

Our monthly topical Bible study will be this Wednesday evening. Bro. Nate Hodel from Roanoke plans to be here. His topic will be from 2 Corinthians 10. The title is “Weapons of our Warfare”.

Hospital Lumiere in Bonne Fin, Haiti has an urgent need to fill the Director of Operations role which will soon be vacated when the current missionary Director returns home. This is a key management position, vital to the functioning of the hospital, which provides leadership and direction to the hospital’s administrative departments such as Admissions, Finance, Human Resources, Chaplaincy, Security and possibly others. This is a full-time role requiring relocation to Haiti. Financial support is provided through the HarvestCall Servant Fund. Help is needed unloading trucks at the Eureka Food pantry ‪this Tuesday at 12:30pm.

The Young group Bible study will be at Bro. Mel and Sis. Marilyn Blunier’s ‪this Friday starting at 7:30pm.

There will be singing at the Eureka Home ‪this Saturday starting at 6:45pm. If you haven’t been there in a while, please consider attending.
